Sphinx is a highly collectible UK brand founded in the late 1940’s by S. Root in Chiswick London. Pieces produced by the company are known for their esteemed craftmanship using high quality materials. Many pieces were of floral themes using high quality coloured rhinestones and enamel. It is also said that the brand produced for notable fashion houses such as K.J.L., Butler & Wilson, Saks 5th Ave., and Bloomingdales and also for brands such as Ciner and Jomaz. The company ceased trading under the Sphinx trademark in the late 1990’s.
